About the Conference
We are pleased to announce that the International Conference of Mechanical Engineering and Applications (ICMEA 2026) will take place from October 21 to 23, 2026, in Kocaeli, Türkiye. This year's conference will be held in a hybrid format, allowing both in-person and virtual participation, ensuring broad accessibility for attendees worldwide.
ICMEA serves as a premier academic platform for researchers to present their latest findings, explore emerging technologies, and discuss advancements in Mechanical Engineering and Applications. The conference aims to foster collaboration among leading academic scientists, researchers, and scholars by providing an opportunity to exchange ideas, share research results, and engage in meaningful discussions on cutting-edge topics in the field.
The scientific program will highlight current advances in research, production, and applications of Mechanical Engineering and Applications, emphasizing their role in advancing academic and applied sciences. ICMEA will provide a multidisciplinary forum for professionals from academia and industry to present evidence-based research, explore innovative developments, and discuss practical applications.
The presentation languages will be English, Turkish, and Bulgarian. However, all abstract and full paper submissions must be in English. All accepted and presented studies will be published as abstracts or full paper (optional) in the Book of Abstracts and Book of Proceedings (Proceedings of the International Conference of Mechanical Engineering and Applications).. Full paper submission is not mandatory. Selected papers from those submitted will be forwarded to peer-reviewed journals indexed in international databases supporting our conference. Papers that pass peer-review may be published in these journals. We look forward to welcoming you to Kocaeli and engaging in insightful discussions that contribute to the advancement of Mechanical Engineering and Applications.
Keynote Speakers
Distinguished speakers of ICMEA 2026
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Neven Alujević
University of Zagreb, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture
Neven Alujević is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Zagreb, Croatia, where he heads the Chair of Applied Dynamics. He graduated in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Zagreb in 2004, with a thesis on the dynamic modelling of a passenger aircraft landing gear shock absorber. In 2008 he received his PhD from the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR) at the University of Southampton, United Kingdom, with a thesis on the active control of aircraft cabin noise.
From 2008 to 2010 he was a postdoctoral researcher at Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany, working in close cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Structural Durability and System Reliability LBF. His research there focused on tuneable vibration absorbers designed to reduce the tonal noise transmitted into tram drivers’ cabs by roof-mounted HVAC compressors. From 2012 to 2016 he was a postdoctoral research fellow at KU Leuven, Belgium, where he studied the dynamics of rolling tyres in collaboration with the Goodyear Innovation Center in Luxembourg.
Much of his research applies feedback control of sound and vibration to a variety of structures. He has worked on the suppression of broadband sound transmission through lightweight partitions, such as the double-panel fuselage wall of a jet aircraft, using decentralised control systems. More recently, he has turned to active metamaterials, which can be made to transmit sound and vibration in one direction but not the other. A further line of research concerns vibration absorbers, both mechanical devices and the U-tube anti-roll tanks used to reduce ship rolling in rough seas. He also studies the dynamics of rotating structures, ranging from toroidal and cylindrical shells to automotive tyres.
He is an Associate Member of the Croatian Academy of Engineering (HATZ), a member of the Croatian Society of Mechanics, and a member of the International Scientific Committee of the European Conference on Structural Control.
Dr. Parham A. Mirzaei
Aarhus University, Denmark
Dr Mirzaei has an extensive research portfolio about a variety of topics in (i) building science such as building energy efficiency, minimizing airborne pathogen transmission, improving indoor and outdoor environmental quality, integration of renewable energies and energy storage technologies, and in (ii) urban science such as distributed energy solutions, urban heat island mitigation, and enhancing urban ventilation. Dr Mirzaei has utilized these studies using diverse experimental techniques (e.g., PIV, wind tunnel, satellite remote sensing, GIS, field survey, in-situ velocimetry, etc.), statistical and AI-based approaches (e.g., big data analytics, data-driven modeling, data sampling), and numerical methods (finite volume, finite difference, energy balance modeling, etc.).
Dr. Mirzaei authored 80+ journal papers and served as the sole author of a fundamental and widely appreciated textbook entitled as “Computational Fluid Dynamics and Energy Modelling in Buildings: Fundamentals and Applications”, published by Wiley in 2023.
Dr Mirzaei is Editor-in-Chief of the journal of Advances in Building Energy Research, Associate Editor and Editorial Board member of various leading journals of the field. He is the Vice-president of IAQVEC association, one of the major communities in the air quality, ventilation, and energy in buildings. He was the UK representative and now Denmark representative member in multiple International Energy Agency (IEA) Annexes such as Annex 31 and Annex 37.
Prof. Hongwei Wu
University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom
Professor Hongwei Wu (FIMechE, FRAeS, FEI, FWSSET) is Professor of Thermofluids and Head of the Energy and Sustainable Manufacturing (ENSM) Research Group at the University of Hertfordshire, UK. A Chartered Engineer and Fellow of leading professional institutions including IMechE, RAeS, the Energy Institute and WSSET. He received his BEng and PhD (2004) in Thermofluids from Beihang University, including a Joint PhD Programme with HKUST.
His research focuses on turbulence and multiscale transport phenomena, particularly two-phase and multiphase flows, conjugate heat transfer, advanced cooling technologies, energy conversion and storage, renewable energy, and battery thermal management. He leads UK- and EU-funded research projects supported by major funding bodies and industrial partners. He has authored over 280 publications, including more than 200 peer-reviewed journal articles. Professor Wu also serves in many editorial and international conference leadership roles and is a frequent plenary and keynote speaker.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Tihomir Dovramadjiev
Technical University of Varna, Bulgaria
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Tihomir Dovramadjiev is an academic, researcher, educator, and professional whose work encompasses ergonomics and human factors, industrial design, digital design, and emerging technologies. He serves as President of the Bulgarian Association of Ergonomics and Human Factors (BAEHF), affiliated with the International Ergonomics Association (IEA) and the Federation of European Ergonomics Societies (FEES). He is also a faculty member and researcher at Technical University of Varna, Department of Industrial Design, where he has more than 15 years of academic experience.
His scholarly output includes more than 100 scientific publications, including research published through internationally recognized academic publishers and platforms such as Springer and Elsevier, as well as several scholarly books. Among his major publications is the book “3D Digital Design in Ergonomics and Human Factors” (Taylor & Francis, CRC Press, 2025), for which he was honored with the prestigious Varna Award 2026 in the category of Technical Sciences.
He has served as a scientific board member, committee chair, and reviewer for prestigious international scientific conferences including the Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics (AHFE) Conference, the International Conference on Human Systems Engineering and Design (IHSED), and the Intelligent Human Systems Integration (IHSI) Conference. He is also a member of the Editorial Boards of IETI Transactions on Ergonomics and Safety (TES) and serves as a Special Issue Editor for Mathematics (MDPI, Q1 in JCR).

Review & Notification

Presentations at the conference may be delivered in Turkish, Bulgarian, or English. However, all abstracts and full texts uploaded to the system must be written in English.
Registration is only considered complete once payment has been successfully processed. Please ensure that your conference fee is paid before the deadline to finalize your participation.

Special Issue Information:
Provided that a sufficient number of manuscripts are submitted and successfully pass the peer-review process, the Bitlis Eren University Journal of Science will publish them as a special issue in February. If the required number of submissions is not reached, the submitted manuscripts will be published across the journal’s regular issues.
